KBA February 2020 Bait Hives with John Benham

We really had an awesome night with John Benham learning about how to catch swarms with bait hives. We had record-breaking attendance and lots of great questions. Thank you to John for spending his time with our club. I have a feeling there are going to be bait hives all over Louisville after learning how to do this. This was another opportunity the KBA has provided to teach our members how to obtain bees for free!

We are an active local beekeeping community hosting public educational events and hands-on field days since 1976. The Louisville, Kentucky metro area and surrounding counties are full of beekeepers! You may even have one living on your street, keeping bees in their backyard, without even knowing it. Often quirky, sometimes funny, but always interesting, the urban beekeeper loves to share knowledge on the life and benefits of honeybees and the challenging yet entertaining hobby of being a beekeeper.
